Sparwood Food Bank Report

The Sparwood Food Bank continues to serve clients Tuesdays and Thursdays with monthly hampers, seeing an average of 48 clients per month and giving out about 70 hampers per month (some clients receive a large and small or variation of sizes depending on the family size).

While we have added new clients to our list, we also have clients who “graduated” from our services and no longer need us – exactly what we want for them!

December 2024, we had another successful food drive, coordinated by Sparwood Search and Rescue, with the assistance of Sparwood Fire Services, BC Ambulance and the RCMP. We had a great volunteer turn out and the sorting was completed in 3 days!

We offered an option of gift cards or Christmas hampers in 2024, with a small number choosing hampers, helping us make the decision to only offer gift cards in 2025.

We still have some outstanding work to be completed on the outside of the building, with some struggles finding a contractor, and we will revisit it in the spring of 2025.

We continue to be a respected organization that is well supported by the community of Sparwood.
